Salla store design and development, set up properly from day one.
We design, customise and set up Salla stores for Saudi merchants, and for brands entering the Kingdom, who want more than a default theme. You get a branded storefront, payments and shipping configured and tested, products migrated cleanly and SEO foundations in place, so your Salla store launches ready to sell in Arabic and English.

Everything a Salla store needs, from theme to first order.
Salla makes it easy to open a store. Making that store look like your brand, convert on mobile and run cleanly behind the scenes takes more work, and that is the part we handle.
This page covers Salla specifically. For our wider e-commerce work across platforms, see E-commerce Development.
- Theme design and customisation: adapting a Salla Theme Store theme to your brand, or building a fully custom theme on Salla's Twilight theme engine.
- Store setup: categories, product options, VAT settings, shipping zones, policies and the business details Saudi rules require you to display.
- Payments and shipping: activating card payments, Apple Pay and buy-now-pay-later, and connecting the carriers you want to use.
- Apps and integrations: choosing and configuring apps from the Salla App Store, and connecting Salla to your ERP or accounting system where you need it.
- Migration to Salla: moving products, customers and content from Shopify, Zid, WooCommerce or a custom site, with redirects from your old URLs.
- SEO for Salla stores: keyword-led categories, unique Arabic and English product copy, image alt text and internal linking.
What Salla does well, and where it stops.
Salla is a Saudi platform built around Saudi commerce. Payments, carriers and ZATCA e-invoicing are switched on from the dashboard rather than bolted on, and you never manage hosting or security patches.
The trade-off is that Salla is a hosted platform. Your storefront has to work within Salla's theme engine, checkout and data model, so very specific requirements, such as complex B2B price lists or unusual checkout logic, need an app, an external system or a different platform.
If you are still choosing a platform, our Salla vs Zid vs Shopify guide compares them side by side. This page assumes you have chosen Salla or are leaning towards it.
Salla's plans at time of writing.
Your Salla subscription is paid to Salla and is separate from any design or development work. Prices change, and Salla charges more when you upgrade inside its mobile app than in a web browser, so always check the figure in your own dashboard.
| Plan | Published price | Positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Entry plan for starting out |
| Plus | SAR 99/month or SAR 990/year in a browser (SAR 129/month via the app) | Adds more tools and features than Basic |
| Pro | SAR 299/month or SAR 2,990/year (third-party reported) | Adds more advanced tools than Plus |
| Special | Custom pricing | For large companies and institutions |

If your Salla orders also need to reach an ERP or accounting system, see e-commerce, ERP and ZATCA integration.
- Card payments: mada and Visa/Mastercard are activated from Salla's payment settings. Salla's help centre says Apple Pay switches on automatically once mada and Visa/Mastercard are active.
- Buy now, pay later: Tabby and Tamara are enabled from the same payments page. Each merchant has its own contract with the provider, and fees depend on the products sold and their value.
- Shipping: Salla's shipping service covers domestic delivery with Saudi Post, Aramex and SMSA and international delivery with DHL Express, and orders can carry the customer's national address.
- Registration: Salla requires an active commercial registration (CR) or a freelance document, which is open to Saudi citizens only, plus an Absher account, a Saudi bank account and a Saudi mobile number.
- Store documentation: since March 2023 the Ministry of Commerce documents online stores through the Saudi Business Center's Business Platform (business.sa) instead of Maroof.
- ZATCA e-invoicing: Salla's ZATCA integration app sends your tax invoices to ZATCA. It needs a ZATCA portal account, an approved CR, a verified store and a complete main branch address.
What you get that a DIY setup usually misses.
Many merchants open a Salla store themselves, and for a small catalogue that can work well. The problems tend to show up later: a theme that looks like every other store, messy product data and a checkout nobody tested on a real mada card.
- A storefront designed around your brand and products, with Arabic and English layouts planned together rather than translated afterwards.
- Clean product data before import: consistent names, options, variants, images and prices, so filters and search work.
- Payments, shipping and notifications tested end to end with real orders before launch.
- SEO set up from the start: category structure, page titles, descriptions and redirects from any previous site.
- Plain-English documentation of how your store is configured. Your Salla account, domain and content stay in your name.

Who this is for, and who it isn't.
- A good fit: Saudi merchants launching a first store who want it set up properly rather than learning by trial and error.
- A good fit: brands entering the Kingdom whose team works in English and needs a partner who can explain Salla's setup clearly.
- A good fit: existing Salla merchants whose theme, product data or SEO is holding the store back.
- A good fit: merchants moving to Salla from Shopify, Zid, WooCommerce or a custom site.
- Probably not a fit: businesses that need complex B2B pricing or custom checkout logic. A different platform or a custom build may serve you better, and we will say so.
- Probably not a fit: anyone who only wants the cheapest possible template install. Freelance marketplaces serve that need.

Questions answered.
How much does Salla store design cost?
It depends on the scope, so we quote after a short scoping call rather than publishing a fixed price. The main cost drivers are whether you adapt a Theme Store theme or commission a custom Twilight theme, the size and complexity of your catalogue, migration from another platform and any integrations. Your Salla subscription is separate and paid to Salla. At time of writing, Plus is SAR 99 a month when bought in a browser.
Do I need a commercial registration to open a Salla store?
You need either an active commercial registration or a freelance document. Salla's help centre says the freelance document is available to Saudi citizens only, so residents and foreign-owned businesses need a CR. Salla's terms also require an Absher account, a Saudi bank account and a Saudi mobile number, and your store must show its name, address, CR or freelance number and contact channels.
Can a Salla store accept mada, Apple Pay, Tabby and Tamara?
Yes. mada and Visa/Mastercard are activated from Salla's payment settings, and Salla says Apple Pay then switches on automatically. Tabby and Tamara are enabled from the same page, but each requires its own merchant agreement, and the provider sets your fees based on what you sell. We prepare your store for those approvals and test every method with real transactions before launch.
Can you move my store from Shopify, Zid or WooCommerce to Salla?
Yes. Salla has a built-in importer for Shopify and Zid products, which we use where it fits. It handles physical products only, so digital products are recreated by hand. WooCommerce and custom sites are moved from structured exports. We also carry over customers and content where possible, set up redirects from your old URLs and test checkout before switching your domain.
Can Salla handle ZATCA e-invoicing?
Yes, through Salla's ZATCA integration app, which connects your store's tax invoices to ZATCA. To activate it you need a ZATCA portal account, an approved CR, a verified Salla store and a complete main branch address, then you generate a one-time code in the ZATCA portal. If you also run an ERP or accounting system, the invoices and orders usually need to reach it too.
Can you improve SEO for an existing Salla store?
Yes. Most Salla SEO work is structure and content: keyword-led category and product names, unique Arabic and English descriptions, image alt text, internal links and redirects from old URLs. We work within the settings Salla exposes and tell you upfront where the platform limits what can change. Results depend on competition and content, so we set expectations before starting.
